DESCRIPTION

Evolve have partnered with Gates to make all our motor gears!

This gear is designed to work with our GT3 Gates/Evolve belts and offers impeccable strength and quality. Compatible with all Evolve boards.

Incudes 2 x Gates motor gears

Installation: Remove old gear with a heat gun to break the seal of the older glue. When installing the new Gates gear, use Loctite Medium strength when installing on the motor shaft, allow to dry for 4-5 hours before using.

** Does not include grub screws (you can use your old ones) **

All our boards are sent through Startrack or TNT Road Freight. Our boards must be handled as dangerous goods due to Australian lithium battery regulations which may require a mandatory overnight holding period, which can affect shipping times. These packages are not tracked as well as standard post so please use the below transit times as a rough guide.

We are unable to ship skateboards and batteries to Parcel Lockers, P.O. Boxes, Military Bases or temporary accommodation. Please provide us with a home/work address and ensure your billing/shipping address is correct.

Missing an essential item

The fact that it doesn't come with with the screw is a muck around and adds a pointless extra step. The screw seems like an essential component of the overall product.

happy with motor gears but would be good if they came with the grub screw to fix them in place. I would have thought this would be part of the package

Excellent quality and installs quickly. Locktite has been recommended by some, but it stays on just fine with the pin screw.

A solid little gear

What is there to say about the stock evolve motor gear. It comes with the grub screw and works as expected. It might be a little more pricy then some of the after market options, but you know it will work and it is solid. As a note, always buy 2 of them, nothing is worse then buying one and then needing another after a week of use (when the aftermarket one fails.)

have a spare around with you...

I live in a hilled area, and I did not notice it before that my previous gears were in the worst condition. Keep an eye on the state of your gears regularly. If you are having issues tensioning belts, the chances are that you need to replace your gears, your belts or both. It would not harm you to have a spare around if you are in doubt.

These replacements seem to be heavier and better quality. Should outlast my first set!

What size grub screws should be used

What set screw size should be used? It seems that the grub screw hole is on the opposite side of the gear compared to the original gear. This means that the set screw will not fit in the notch of the motor shaft designed fo this purpose.

I had to get different motors for my board and I'm just wondering how much should i grind away from the motor to make the pulley fit? there both the same diameter for shaft size. My problem is that its a fully circular motor shaft while the motor pulley has a flat edge. If you could help me that would be great.
