The ethos was to make no sacrifices to the ride feeling or look of traditional BMX - by using a nimble 24” design for agility and fluidity, and stealthy integration of the technology to maintain traditional aesthetics, Project BMX does just that.

RIDES LIKE A BIKE

Many eBikes place their motors and batteries in positions that are easiest and/or cheapest, with little regard to the effects on the rider experience. Frame geometry and weight distribution are pivotal in electric bike design, optimising rider comfort and bike handling. The carefully calculated angles and weight placement on Project BMX lower the centre of gravity, enhancing stability and control, especially at higher speeds or during tight maneuvers. This balance allows for a natural riding posture and facilitates intuitive control, improving the interaction between rider and machine.

Why a Mid-Drive Motor and not a Hub Motor?

Using a mid-mounted motor in Project BMX goes far beyond maintaining aesthetics. These kinds of motors offer substantial benefits over hub drive systems found on other commuter/urban e-bikes.

The mid-drive allows for optimal weight distribution for handling, a smoother and more natural pedal assist feeling, and eliminates the drawbacks of adding rotational mass to the rear wheel. They are also quieter, and being connected directly to the crank increases the motor’s efficiency to make the most of the bike’s range.

What is the difference between the 250W and 500W Project BMX?

The 500W has a higher power rating allowing the motor to provide more torque, which will result in faster acceleration and better performance. It comes standard with a throttle, and no speed limit, intended for use on private property*.

The 250W is road-compliant with local road rules. This model uses the same motor rated to 750W but uses a 250W firmware which decreases power and torque. It is pedal assist-only (no throttle), and has a 25kph speed limit. Users may choose to add a throttle, which will allow acceleration up to 36kph but no longer be compliant.

Crafted from Chromalloy, the frame achieves a delicate balance, offering lightness without compromising strength. The mellow 70-degree head tube angle facilitates smooth turns, complemented by a 26-inch standover height for user-friendly access, suitable for individuals five foot four and above.

The sleek, waterproof LED display keeps riders informed about the ride while being discreet enough to maintain the overall aesthetics of the simple BMX style.

Evolve Electric BMX, Amazing!

So when you get on and pedal the bike pulls you forward like quite a bit quicker then you'r pedaling.

The sensation is fantastic! You kinda feel like a super hero : ) I mean look at it too. It's stream lined.

It feels great and it looks great. People ask about it every time we go out. So I finally bought one and my wife liked it so much, she kept it and bought me another one! No kidding. Riding together is a lot of fun for us.

I have both the Hadens and I absolutely love them!! So now I find myself having a hard time deciding which superior Evolve toy I should take for a spin. Thank you Evolve for the killer boards and now this rippin BMX bike! You guys get it right every time. Cheers to knocking it out of the park.

This BMX Has More Style Than Harajuku on a Saturday!

Riding the (first?) Project BMX in Japan (Chrome / Spoked) has made me the unofficial mascot of Osaka streets. People stop mid-slurp of their ramen and stare like I just rode out of an anime intro. At the conbini, they ask if I'm testing some secret government project. I mean, who wouldn't? This bike rockets through Japanese streets so fast, I'm convinced it's powered by pure wasabi and the spirit of a thousand cherry blossoms. It turned me from "average guy on a Mama-chari" to local kids calling me a "Rocal BMX Regend!" Honestly, I'm pretty sure I deserve a cape, a theme song, and maybe even a mascot. This isn't just a bike, it's a two-wheeled boss that commands respect everywhere it goes! Seriously though... it's so much fun!
